Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident

Dr. Michael Schiappa is a current third year Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery resident at the University of Illinois at Chicago and is originally from Lincolnwood, IL on the north side of Chicago. He attended Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA for his undergraduate education and received a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. He was accepted into the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society and also played four years of Division 1 lacrosse during his time at Bucknell. He received his dental training from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York, NY in 2021, where he was accepted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and received the Pierre Fauchard Academy Award. Michael's research interests include biomedical engineering applications in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and the development of devices to aid in improving patient safety and surgical outcomes.
