The U.S. Department of Defense has embarked on a series of innovations in craniomaxillofacial trauma surgical education, CAD/CAM technology integration and clinical care to ensure optimized outcomes for patients. OMS members of all backgrounds – especially those who have hospital affiliation or are faculty – are encouraged to attend this session discussing innovations in maxillofacial reconstruction after a trauma injury.
This session will explore advanced head and neck trauma training through the integration of technology and digital workflow to improve patient outcomes in combat settings and everyday trauma injuries. Procedural assessment and educational innovations – such as head and neck trauma course development and surgical techniques – will be discussed as well as the Combat Craniomaxillofacial Trauma Surgery Course and the contemporary role of the OMS in combat.
