Vishtasb Broumand, DMD, MD is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Dentistry and the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery along with a second year of General Surgery and a one-year fellowship in Head and Neck Tumor and Reconstructive Surgery.
Upon completion of fellowship, he was in private practice from 2006 to 2012, and later served as Assistant Professor of Surgery in the University of Miami School of Medicine Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from 2012 to 2015.
He now permanently resides in Scottsdale and has a full-time private practice of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Desert Ridge Oral Surgery Institute. He serves as Medical Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at the University of Arizona, Banner University Medical Center and is the official team oral surgeon for the MLB Arizona Diamondbacks and the NBA Phoenix Suns since 2018.
He devotes most of his clinical practice to the comprehensive treatment of patients with missing teeth using Zygomatic, Pterygoid and Conventional dental implants with the latest digital workflow and technology. He also remains passionate about removal of wisdom teeth with sedation and facial reconstructive surgery for treatment of trauma and tumor related defects, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and orthognathic surgical correction of craniofacial deformities. He is involved in live patient surgery courses nationwide involving full arch dental implant rehabilitation and placement of zygomatic implants. He is on the medical staff at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Banner Medical Center and Honor Health Medical Centers.
He regularly participates in medical rescue missions and relief efforts. While in private practice he was also involved in extensive repair of facial congenital and acquired deformities of adults and children through several non-profit foundations "Operatio Re-Dentulate Central America Association", “Mission Rescate” and “Operation Changing Lives” in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Guatemala and other medically underserved areas in the USA. He has also served as Executive Director on the Board of “Orphans Worldwide”, another non-profit foundation since 2010.
After the devastating earthquake in Haiti in January 2010, Dr. Broumand closed his private practice on 2 occasions and chartered a private plane to the Dominican Republic and put together a group of 8 doctors for immediate emergency relief. In 2019 he founded an advanced dental implant training center "Total Dental Implant Solutions" in Phoenix, AZ. He has trained close to 200 surgeons during live surgery courses in the USA on Zygomatic and Pterygoid Dental Implants and teaches all attendees his digital workflow as well.
