Dr. Jordan Gigliotti is an assistant professor at McGill University (Montreal, QC) in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery where he is actively involved in the surgical education of residents, research and clinical care. He majored in molecular biology and biochemistry at Simon Fraser University. He then completed his dental degree from the University of Manitoba and his medical degree from McGill University. He completed his internship and residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at McGill University and the McGill University Health Centre. Dr. Gigliotti then completed his fellowship training in head and neck oncology and microvascular reconstructive surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham/O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center.
His clinical interests include the management of tumors of the oral cavity, salivary glands, face, and jaws as well as the reconstruction of acquired and developmental deformities of the craniomaxillofacial region and the surgical management of obstructive sleep apnea. Dr. Gigliotti is actively involved in both translational and clinical research. He is particularly interested in oral carcinogenesis and the development of biomarkers that predict malignant transformation of oral potential malignant disorders (OPMD). Other areas of research focus on perioperative optimization and the improvement of functional outcomes in head and neck cancer patients.
