This session will provide information on utilizing advanced robotic technology to achieve accurate implant placement by facilitating the presurgical work-up and assimilating it directly to the surgical experience. Basic robotic technology will be covered along with a summary of the clinical workflow describing how the robot is registered to the patient's anatomy in space. The session will demonstrate the differences when comparing dynamic navigation, static guides and freehand methods of implant placement to understand the value of robotic infusion into a traditional office setting.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
Explain the advantages and disadvantages of the different methods of implant placement.
Describe how robotic technology may be adapted into a busy clinical setting.
Summarize other oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures that may benefit from robotic technology.
