This session will focus on bony surgery for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. There will be a brief discussion of the work-up of the patient prior to the discussion of various osteotomies, their indications and effects. The osteotomies include maxillomandibular advancement, Distraction Osteogenesis - Maxillary Expansion, a novel genioglossus advancement, Inverted-L, and custom total joint replacement. Additional emphasis will be placed on modifications to orthognathic surgical procedures in order to best serve the OSA patient.

List the varying osteotomies that can be performed for increasing airway volume.
Discuss modifications to existing orthognathic surgical techniques in order to maximize the airway volume during surgery.
Describe how virtual surgical planning can decrease the risk of relapse in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.
