Dr. Armando Uribe Rivera, DDS, MS is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Graduate Dental Medicine School of Boston University. Dr. Uribe Rivera obtained his DDS from the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon, in Monterrey, Mexico. He obtained his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Certificate from the Centro Medico Nacional “20 de Noviembre” ISSSTE in Mexico City. After his OMS training, Dr. Uribe Rivera furthered his education with a Fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery, with a special interest in mandibular distraction and surgical management of cranial vault techniques in an internationally renowned Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery department in Mexico. Dr. Uribe Rivera has also completed a Research Fellowship from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Science diploma in Clinical Investigation program from the University of Rochester. He is presently responsible for helping design clinical investigations in our department and guiding resident research. Armando also coordinates international surgical mission trips for our residents to increase their exposure to cleft and craniofacial surgery. Dr. Uribe Rivera’s current research projects include patient satisfaction on orthognathic surgery research, medical emergencies in dentistry, and implant dentistry research. His clinical interests include outpatient oral and maxillofacial surgery, cleft lip and palate surgery, and pediatric mandibular distraction osteogenesis techniques. In his spare time, Armando enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He loves to travel, and is passionate about music, boxing, tennis, and basketball.
